Enea opretter Android kompetence-center
Svenske Enea åbner 'center of excellence' i Lund i Sverige, hvor skal fokuseres på træning og udvikling af applikationer omkring den mobile Android platform (in english).
Enea, a global software and services company focused on solutions for communication-driven products, today announced that in response to strong market demand for its Android expertise, it is establishing a competence center based in Lund, Sweden to serve the worldwide mobile device community.
The Enea Android Competence Center will offer professional software development services, as well as a variety of training programs for developers of mobile phones, netbooks and mobile internet devices (MIDs) who are considering using the emerging open source platform or are actively developing devices.
By establishing the Enea Android Competence Center, Enea is building on extensive experience in delivering not only Android, but its own RTOS-based phone platforms based on OSE and OSEck, which powered 400 million mobile phones last year.
- Android is clearly a disruptive technology in the mobile industry and in many cases the mobile value chain is struggling to assimilate, integrate and deliver Android platforms, says Gregory Singh, SVP Global Services at Enea.
- Enea has a proven track record of successfully delivering both Android-based software development projects and education to jump start successful deployments, so it is only natural that we formalize our efforts with a competence center. The large size of our Android-focused consulting team at Enea Öresund, places us among the strongest Android services players in northern Europe. We intend to further enhance our resources to help customers deliver Android-based handsets and mobile devices that exceed the functionality, performance and reliability expectations of the demanding consumer market, Gregory Singh says.
Enea's Android Competence Center has a focus on the platform and framework level of Android. By combining extensive experience in end-to-end handset software design from the baseband to application layer, including integration and testing, Enea is uniquely positioned to be trusted partner to handset manufacturers, component suppliers and software developers who are adjusting to the challenges posed by the rapid adoption of the Android platform.
Enea professional services teams have deep knowledge in Android internals and integration, file systems, OSE RTOS, device drivers, operator needs, security and tool development. Enea Android expertise can be delivered through a number of engagement models depending on the project requirements.
The training curriculum offered by Enea Android Competence Center targets handset, MID and platform engineers who are migrating to Android. The platform training package is divided into modules to facilitate tailor-made learning based on the background of the audience.
Developers with strong competence in embedded software and device drivers may need to learn more about Linux and building software for Android while an experienced Linux developer may need an introduction to Android specifics and knowledge of mobile platforms. The flexible module-based training delivers exactly the knowledge required from a simple overview to a five day complete Android seminar.
