Ny teknologiplatform til styring af konsumerelektronik
Med introduktion af Movea's nye såkaldte MotionIC platform introduceres en række nye koncepter for styring og kontrol af konsumerprodukter (in english).
Movea, a global leader in motion-sensing and motion control, is building on its twenty years of experience in the pioneering of motion sensing consumer electronics and its extensive development and patenting of motion processing technologies to launch its new MotionIC Platform.
Movea’s MotionIC offering includes chips and chipsets, SmartMotion firmware, software API’s and developer kits, and IP that will enable OEM’s, Set Top Box (STB) suppliers, Digital TV Manufacturers and Service Providers to rapidly adopt and integrate 2 to 9 axes of motion processing and control into their product solutions.
A major market focus for MotionIC is in-air motion control solutions for the PayTV industry, STB market and Digital TV markets where Movea’s award-winning, motion-sensing technology adds new levels of interactivity and ease-of-use, benefitting from the experience gained from over three million Air Mouse units sold under its Gyration brand name (Gyration Air Mouse pictured right).
Movea will be announcing two contracts with key players in the remote control manufacturing market at IBC 2010 in Amsterdam.
- Digital Television and connectivity in the home is changing from being a passive experience watching TV to an interactive one – thanks to advanced Graphical User Interfaces and the new breed of STB that Service Providers are deploying, explaines Sam Guilaumé, CEO at Movea.
- Adding SmartMotion by Movea will transform the user experience; providing a natural, intuitive way to interact with your TV by using simple hand movements and gestures to navigate media and content. Navigation with traditional remote controls uses buttons that only allow you to move up, down, left and right. This is barely adequate for today’s 2 dimensional, grid-based on-screen TV guides which have grown in size to many hundreds of channels. If you add the need to navigate through, and interact with, new web-based services, traditional remote control buttons become a very cumbersome way to navigate today’s digital media experience.
Movea’s SmartMotion processing capabilities give a remote control device the ability to easily navigate next generation TV services in a brilliantly simple and intuitive manner much like the experience of using a Wiimote.
